Harford County Foster Family Appreciation Day

Foster Family Appreciation Day is our annual Foster Family service day where we partner with the Harford County, MD Department of Social Services to provide a day of fun, food, games and love and honor the foster parents who provide care for so many children in need in our county.  This event is held in the spring, at a local outdoor park.   If you would like more information, please email questions@harfordcommunity.org

Journey of Hope Bags:

Journey of Hope is a ministry that was formed to share a tangible gift of hope and love for every new Harford County foster child during that first scary week of transition to a new placement.  Each child is given a bag filled with age and gender appropriate items (such as toys, comfort blanket, personal care items, diapers, gift cards, stuffed animals, etc.).  The idea is to provide each child with some items that they can call their very own.  Our hope is to let each child know that they are wonderfully and beautifully made, that they are surrounded by a community that loves them, and to try to restore a sense of hope as they begin this new chapter in their life's journey.
