Allan Gorman - Lead Teaching Pastor
Email:  Allang@harfordcommunity.org   |   Phone:  410.734.0601 x 102

Allan has been a Pastor in Harford County since 1977, beginning his service as a Youth Pastor at Mountain Christian Church. He and his wife, Peggy, and their two girls, Noel and Katie, launched HCC in October of 1992 along with a small group of about 20 friends. Allan has been passionate about Jesus since coming to faith at the age of 15. Since then he has wanted others to come to know and follow Jesus. He desires to see the Church of Jesus come together in unity. He hopes to help remove obstacles that keep people from faith in Christ by bringing messages and methods that make the gospel accessible, relatable, and real. He has 6 grandchildren (Maria, Micah, Kai, Justice, Kessie, and Alex) who all attend HCC along with their wonderful parents, Noel and Joel Veihmeyer, and Katie and Jesse Love.

In order to lead the church well, Allan has also been motivated to stay current on what is happening in the community, including being in touch with local businesses, service agencies, and non-profits. He is past President of Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity. He has had various roles on community coalitions to address addiction, strengthen marriages, address crime issues in Baltimore, and regional community service needs. He served on Governor Bob Erhlich's Faith-based Community Capacity Building Initiative, leading seminars and opening Md State Senate sessions in prayer. He has served as a consultant with the Department of Social Services facilitating the development of their five year strategic plan. He has been the Chief Creative Officer of the PEP Group, a consulting firm for business, government and non-profits to help design purpose, develop excellence and discover passion. He has been a keynote and conference speaker for business and government groups, and has developed and led seminars entitled, “How to Have a G.R.E.A.T. Place to Work.” "Excellent Customer C.A.R.E.", and the Skybox Leadership Seminar at Camden Yards in Baltimore for a Fortune 1000 company.

In his spare time, Allan loves to spend time with Peggy, particularly somewhere close to the water. He likes to ride his Harley, go to Orioles games, and watch movies that have a “based on a true story” background. He enjoys singing and playing percussion, longtime friends, meeting new people, time with his children and grandchildren (baseball in the backyard at the Gormans), and scuba diving in warm waters. He and Peggy live in Forest Hill in the home they constructed in 1986.
